The recovery process is a critical period for
all animals, whether recovering from surgery or an illness. Family
member attention and care, communication with your veterinarian,
and follow up care, are three important steps for all recovering
animals. When your pet goes home from the hospital it is extremely
important to follow all instructions given to you by your veterinarian.
It is also important to be in contact with your veterinarian regarding
your pet’s progress, so if instructions or medications need
to be changed, it can be done as soon as possible. Your veterinarian
usually will want to see your pet again, soon after going home. These
visits are an important step in the recovery process and allow your
veterinarian to monitor any changes which may have occurred with
your pet. |
